Distribution

Temperate Australasia, Tropical Indo-Pacific


Description

Black and white tipped spiny dorsal fin, and red cap over head. Body colour and bars can change almost instantaneously from white or pale pink to bright red, though bars usually distinguishable. Length to 40 cm.

Depth: 4-160 m
