international collaborators

Reef Life Survey has a growing number of international partners who contribute greatly to the global coverage of standardised RLS data. Particularly important nodes of survey activity and their leaders are shown on this page, but we also acknowledge contributions of many other individuals who assist with international surveys outside of these larger teams.

RLS EUROPE

Reef Life Survey Europe is a dynamic non-profit dedicated to the study and preservation of marine biodiversity. At the heart of its mission is the establishment of a European Marine Biodiversity Observatory, crafted through the enthusiastic collaboration of scientists and society. The resulting database will become an accessible and invaluable resource for research, education, and informed decision-making in marine conservation.

Smithsonian's MarineGEO Program

Headed by Emmett Duffy, the Smithsonian's Marine Global Earth Observatory (MarineGEO) Program aims to build the first comprehensive, standard database on the coastal ocean’s wealth of biological diversity, embedded in rich ecological understanding, catalyzing new scientific discoveries and solutions. The MarineGEO program collects data using RLS methodology to add to this database.
