Description
Male dark and elongate with blueish/green scribbles on head, similarly coloured speckles on body and blue lines on tail creating a forked appearance; closely resemble male A. geographicus (Scribbled Wrasse). Females more common, and have white spots arranged in rows on a dark body, a yellow tail and ocelli at rear of dorsal and anal fins; similar A. melanurus (Blacktail Wrasse), has a black rear margin on tail.
