Description

Soft body with pointed tail and serrations around the margins. Its pink colouration and shape allow it to blend in perfectly with its host sponge Aplysilla rosea, on which it feeds and lays eggs. Very common on wharf pylons that provide substratum for the sponge.

Conservation and Rarity

IUCN Status: Not Evaluated

Occurrence: Infrequent (1.9% of sites)

Occurrence describes how often the species is found on surveys within its distribution. It is calculated as the % of reef sites surveyed by RLS divers across all the ecoregions in which the species has been observed
