Description
Males with large distinct scales on body, red-brown to olive green on sides, blue-green on back and upper tail base, head purplish with oblique blue-green stripes, one through eye and another broader one on cheek, and eye red. Females/initial phase red-brown with a large yellow patch on upper tail base and red fins.
