Distribution
Description
Growing up to 25cm in length, the ribbon-like body exhibits 9-13 eyespots along the base of the dorsal fin. May be found out of water sheltering under rocks or seaweeds, although can be found at depths up to 100m. Spawning occurs from November - January, with eggs closely guarded and often laid inside an empty bivalve shell or under a stone.
