Description
Found deep in the branches of Acropora hard corals. Colour patterns with red stripe along back and blue bands on head and becoming less distinct down the body represents those of an undescribed species shown in Allen & Erdmann 2012 as Gobiodon species 3, although that has only been recorded in SE Asia. Also possibly a variation of similar G. histrio, G. rivulatus or G. quinquestrigatus.
