Description
Differs from its western relative Batrachomoeus rubricephalus in possessing a darker colour and in lacking pinkish bands between the eyes and on the sides of the head. Both species have an expandable mouth that can accommodate very large prey. Females guard their eggs, which are placed on the ceiling of rock crevices.
