Description

Thought to depend on the colour of its amphipod prey, individuals may present in one of three colour phases; red, emerald green, and gold-brown. Dark dots form a broken line along midside of body. Light spots may also be present. A narrow dark line runs above and below (sometimes through) the eye, extending toward the operculum.
