Description
Dark grey to black upper body with yellow edged white bars the extend down to white belly, oblique yellow streak on rear margin of operculum, yellow or white tail base. Proportionally longer pectoral fins, and with fewer white bars on body than juvenile T. jansenii (Jansen's wrasse). Swims continuously and quickly, low over the top of the reef. South-west Pacific only.
