Description

Charcoal grey to dark brown, scales on lateral line pale, outer eyes yellowish and often has pale tail and rear of dorsal and anal fins. Juveniles with head and back grey with blue lines and dashes, rest of body white, blue ringed ocellus on dorsal fin and another small ocellus on top of tail base.
