Description
Lateral line curves downward steeply below origin of soft dorsal fin, with straight row of scutes for more than half the body length, bluish-green tint to a silvery body with yellow lateral stripe passing from upper eye to tail base, and small black spot on rear of opercle. Forms densely packed schools. Similar S. crumenophthalmus (Bigeye Scad) has a more gentle curve in lateral line that straightens out half way along body.
