Distribution

Tropical Eastern Pacific, Tropical Indo-Pacific


Description

Extended fin rays in the middle of the dorsal fin and lunate tail in large males. Females with smaller white spots than in Chlorurus sordidus, which also have a longer snout with scribble markings, and narrower body. Female S. prasiognathos have more spots on body and markings on face, but very similar juveniles.
