Description
Pale body with a black stripe from snout through eye to two thirds of the way along the body, often with a yellow stripe above it, and followed by a black blotch on tail base. A similar species from the Indian Ocean P. macronemus (Long-barbel Goatfish), has wider black lateral stripe and also a thin black stripe along second dorsal fin base.
