Distribution

Temperate Australasia, Tropical Indo-Pacific


Description

Pale grey body, bright yellow fins, usually with a black spot two-thirds distance along body which decreases in size and becomes more rectangular with age. Lacks stripes of other black marked snappers L. ehrenbergii (Ehrenberg's Snapper) or L. fulviflamma (Blackspot Snapper) and has a yellow tail unlike L. russellii (Moses' Snapper).
