Distribution

Tropical Atlantic/Caribbean


Description

High body with a pointed snout and a straight, sloping forehead profile. Body with blue spots on scale centres, fading and becoming more scattered towards tail, and yellow fading on belly. Head with numerous blue stripes. Back ground colour may vary but most commonly yellow. Juveniles with small black spot on tail base. Forms dense aggregations on reefs and over sand.
