Temperate Australasia, Tropical Indo-Pacific


Description

Small grouper with honeycomb pattern, very similar to E. merra (Birdwire Rockcod) but with polygonal spots on snout less numerous and larger (two spots between eye and upper lip), dark tailfin margin, and light and dark bars under lower jaw. Length to 31 cm.
