Description
Large grouper, five alternating pairs of broken light and dark bars, orange-brown spots evenly scattered over body. Juveniles have similar markings but, fewer and relatively larger spots. Juveniles found in mangroves and estuaries.. E. malabaricus (Blackspotted Grouper) is covered with small black spots. Length to 120 cm.
