Description
Pale yellow-pink base colour with a grid of dark brown stripes and bands offsetting pale blotches. A dark brown opercular line forms a ‘chinstrap’, which is much fainter or absent in similar species E. australianus. A dark stripe extends posteriourly from the post-orbital margin and continues into a dark dorsal stripe. Body stripes are generally much darker than will occur in E. australianus.
