Temperate Africa, Temperate Australasia, Tropical Indo-Pacific


Description

Blue stripe extending obliquely from top lip through eye and curving to run along upper body to tail, second blue stripe running along mid body, red-brown back usually broken by pale bars, pale belly, second blue stripe on head curving below eye and hooking back in front of a yellow edged black spot on rear of operculum, dark spot at front of dorsal fin and a diffuse dark spot on tail base. Similar Coris dorsomacula (Pinklined Wrasse) distinguished by location (Pacific Ocean).
