Tropical Indo-Pacific


Description

Pearly white body with thin vertical black lines running from back and stopping before reaching belly, and a broad black band tapering from back across tail base to anal fin. Dorsal, anal and tail fins yellow. Broad black band on head encloses small white spot above eye. This black band is broken in Chaetodon oxycephalus (Spotnape Butterflyfish) which has separate black crown.
