Temperate Australasia, Tropical Indo-Pacific


Description

Pale body with narrow red stripes on head fading along body. Similar A. decussatus (Crosshatch Goby) has prominent white tail spot with orange centre, and faint vertical bars on body. Hovers close to the bottom over sand and rubble areas near reefs. Darts into nearby holes when approached.
