Distribution
Temperate Australasia
Description
Banded purple and cream arm spines. Until recently, Clarkcoma pulchra was considered to be a colour variant of C. canaliculata, but consistent differences in the size and density of granules on the undersurface and in the shape of the dorsal arm plates and arm spines indicate that the two species are distinct. A third species in the genus, Clarkcoma bollonsi, is found from Dongara, Western Australia, to Mooloolaba, Queensland, in deep water (9–630 m). It is an orange-brown colour, with the outer edge of each upper arm plate bearing a cream line.
