Tropical Indo-Pacific


Description

Both male and female with purple body and yellow back, dorsal fin and tail. Indistinct yellow stripe from snout through eye, to pectoral fin and fine yellow spots on body. Differs from similar P. tuka (Purple Queen) female by yellow dorsal fin and from male by yellow tail. An Indian Ocean species, in Australia only found at Christmas Island. Occurs in large groups on outer reef slopes. Length to 12cm.
