Temperate Australasia, Tropical Indo-Pacific


Description

Uniform dark body, similar to P. polylepis (Banded Scalyfin) but lacking lumpy head, often with white earspot or scribble behind top of gill cover, and never with bands. Strongly territorial when nesting, charging at divers.
