Description
Large, moderately common hermit crab, distinguished from others by its size, lack of hairs, enlarged left claw and tubercles of different size on the fingers of the right cheliped. Animals living in southeastern Australia are a bright orange-red, while those in the southwest tend to be purple-brown.
