Description
Dark, large scale edges above the lateral line, becoming fainter towards the lower rear portion of the body. Often has purple or blue-green spots on the face and breast, and sometimes may have a dark marking on the upper surface of the tail base. Very similar to A. ternatensis, but has longer, white pelvic fins (in adults). Juveniles may be yellow and look almost identical to A. ternatensis. The latter species is not known from Australia.
