Distribution

Temperate Australasia, Tropical Indo-Pacific


Description

Silver to olive-green body and yellow pelvic and anal fins. Spawns during late autumn or winter at the entrance to estuaries. Range: about Townsville, Qld to the Gippsland Lakes, Vic.; overlaps with range for the very similar Black Bream Acanthopagrus butcheri which is found from about Ulladulla, NSW to Shark Bay, WA. Hybrids can occur.
