2010 survey expedition schedule out
November 6, 2009 by Rick
RLS is planning a big year of surveys in 2010, with the primary goals of filling in spatial gaps around Australia and resurveying key areas.
The schedule for survey expeditions in 2010 can be found by clicking HERE
The plans include resurveys of sites at Jervis Bay, Rottnest Island and Kangaroo Island, for example, but also notably include two extended camping survey safaris, which will help close the large spatial gaps in the northern parts of the East and West coasts of Australia. As with other RLS survey trips, the diving costs will be covered for those divers that participate, but because these trips will involve surveying remote areas, accommodation will be in the form of camping. Those RLS divers that are super keen to participate on these will have the opportunity to express their interest and to nominate particular blocks of time that they would be available for, and places will be filled according to availability and survey experience. The RLS team will send more details on how to nominate for places on these extended expeditions via email.
The second extended trip up the east coast may include key NSW sites for resurveys like at the Solitary Islands for example, but if not, then these areas may be included in additional survey trips that are not yet listed on the schedule. Please feel free to contact the team at enquiries@reeflifesurvey.com if you have any queries about the plans for 2010.
